CD version. Well petroglyph just literally screw all disc holders. Multiplayer only on steam and those fools who thought that since they bought disc version and are thus oldest fans, well they need to buy the game again.

I know I'm one of them who bought it again on Steam and having the CD version. Nevertheless, for me it was worth the deal, apart from a small shadder issue (which you can easily fix by using a patch from us^^) this version works much more stable than the CD version. I got not a single crash since I use it and the grafic looks a bit smoother and loading time is also a bit faster. Besides you're always up-to-date with the Workshop and get supported by patches from Petroglyph. :)

Im not supportive of this screwover. Im thinking about forgetting about this game altogether. I may try to sell my disc version though I highly doubt it will make me enough money. Just cant spare 20 euro right now, since I dont even know if I will be able to pay for college next year.

Edit: I moved Delphi to planet Gonta as quest demanded. Script ended, no more credits autorolling in.

Too bad, our mod is just not in the stable area yet, Boriss.
I believe it will be better then.

No, you won't need a steam version as we can just add the steam update files into our mod.

Also, you still will he able to play multiplayer trough tunngle using our launcher.

Often crashing at the beginning means it has issues loading, is your Computer from the older generations?
No idea about the whitescreen one, can you repeat this issue?
If not it was just a random memory issue, otherwise you are missing some of our textures or from the vanilla game in your installation (not complete?).

I'm sorry to hear you're frustrated. EAW indeed is one of the frustratiog ones. We all suffer this, there are also some days when it works fine.

It is Hewlett - Packard ProBook 4540s, so one of the older ones now. The whitescreen thing did not change when loading a save mid-battle but since then I have not attempted to replicate the issue. When fighting over those super shipyards (that planet where the Wraith have their cloning facility), instead of wraith base it showed imperial base from the core game. After I blew it up the explosion animation switched back into wraith base blowup.

Im not frustrated by the game instability. I play the beta to report any issue that I come over in my play. I ended the game session when I discovered where the script ended (moving Delphi to Gonta). By the way the battle over Gonta was nothing special, just to blow up wraith base and ships. I expected some special battle to occur by the quest description. If it was indeed supposed to be one special then the script stopped when this special event was meant to kick in but somehow didnt.

What frustrates me is this thievery that Petroglyph comitted. And they have the guts to picture themselves saviours on steam!

I guess you will benefit indirectly. I'm still very thankful about the official support because that is not usual to get support even after an decade.

Edit:
Ups I was wrong, the update inclues a changed game.exe and .dll which we can't just provide like Xmls.

Yeah, the support is nice. For some. But consider it this way: if noone bought the disc version, the game would´ve been scraped and would never have seen the light of Steam. And now, all those people who bought the disc version of the game, who gave it the love and space and opportunity to turn Steam, they are now all getting screwed. They are seriously getting fucked up. And I have only one question. Why?

Hey Sorry edited something into my last post and corrected it.

They are seriously getting fucked up. And I have only one question. Why?

I guess, as probably most copies of the game were selled afterwards through the tremendous Steam community (which still generates some income) it just makes sense to support that one. I can understand they can't afford to work for all of them: Steam, CD, Gog so they need to choose wisey.

We conducted some tests and the first results seem to indicate the Pegasus Prelude GC from the beta seems to run significantly more stable under the Steam version than it does for the other game versions. Sadly, that doesn't bring us closer to a solution for those versions.

As for your script crash, have you been able to replicate the issue? Can you exactly determine what needs to happen for it to trigger respectively how to avoid it?
